GIS Mapping Work

Understand spatial relationships in your community with confidence, and locate areas with development potential, and ensure your decision-making processes are grounded in evidence.

Community Plans & Planning Studies

Community Plans and Planning Studies take on a holistic approach to planning, making sure to be sensitive to local character, values and knowledge. These assets are leveraged to guide a community towards change that focuses on facilitating walking-shopping destinations, innovative parking solutions, and will analyze the interrelationships between the viability of infill housing and the necessary growth to support new shops.

Community Plans encompass aspects of the neighbourhood ecosystem necessary to transition to resilient, vibrant, walkable and complete communities, and incorporating strategic placemaking with clear policy statemetents, 3D modeling and maps.

Zoning & Housing Policy Recommendations

Housing policy recommendations are grounded in Form-Based Zoning principles, are sensitive existing policy frameworks, and aim to facilitate the development of high-quality housing.

Zoning recommendations and other housing policy and regulations are grounded in Form-Based Zoning fundamentals, in very clear and simple language that can be effectively graphically illustrated. Zoning recommendations can also be refined to include mechanisms to achieve desirable form and facade features identified in Planning Studies and Community Plans, and graphically illustrated to show effect on the streetscape.

GIS & Mapping Work

GIS mapping work and spatial data analysis can include locating neighborhoods with infill potential in order to inform the creation of Community Plans. GIS work can function iteratively with the development of housing policy and zoning regulations for infill and mixed-use neighbourhoods. The RJH Team can also help you develop your own GIS platform for data visualization, analysis and information sharing.

Our neighbourhoods still have huge ecological footprints, do not meet diverse housing need, and facilitate car-dependent lifestyles for increasingly lonely people.”
